Hypovolemic shock (HS) is a serious clinical situation, and in accordance to the literature, is defined as a situation of poor tissue perfusion and imbalance between supply and demand for oxygen. The hypovolemic shock, when not treated promptly and correctly, has high mortality rates. This experimental study offers a new model to study HS. with the possibility of classifying phases of HS in Wistar rats. New studies are needed in this line of research to better elucidate these compensatory mechanisms in rodents.
