PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF THE EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FOR THE MINORS AND YOUNGSTERS PLACED IN THE CUSTODY OF THE NATIONAL PRISON ADMINISTRATION

The paper proposes to present the educational and psychosocial assistance undertakings for the minors placed in the custody of the National Prison Administration. The entire activity is developed according to the provisions of the international documents Romania ratified: the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, United Nations Standard Minimum Rules - the Beijing Rules (1985), the United Nations Rules for the Protection of Juveniles Deprived of their Liberty, the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment, European Prison Rules (1987).The minors placed in the custody of the National Prison Administration could be found in three reeducation centers (Buzias, Gaesti and Targu Ocna), in four prisons for minors and youngsters (Bacau, Craiova, Targu Mures si Tichilesti) and in prisons for adults.
