The development of a high speed electric multiple unit (EMU) has achieved much attention in China. In order to lighten the high speed EMU, stainless steel and aluminum alloy have been widely used in the structure of the car body. But a lightened car body causes the reduction of stiffness of the structure, lowers the natural frequencies, and easily leads to resonance vibration. The aggravated vibration of the car body seriously affects the ride comfort of passengers. It is an effective way to consider the elastic deformation effect of the structure in the vehicle systems dynamic analysis. In this paper, a multi-body system dynamic model whose structure has an elastic deformation effect is set up. Dynamic simulation of the high speed railway passenger car is carried out using this model. The influence of the elastic vibration of car body imposed on the under-car equipment is studied. The numerical simulation results for the EMU car are validated using a roller rig test.
