The system has two standardized sensor units (11, 12) that are electrically connected to each other by a flexible foil (23) or a flat flexible cable to determine a angular position or the speed of a rotation body (50) e.g. detector wheel of an electrical machine. The foil or flexible cable runs between the sensor units in an excess length to form a loop. The sensor units have a housing, where an assembly opening (35) is formed in the housing. The system is oriented with respect to the rotation body in radial or axial directions. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a sensor system.
