Caprolactone-based acrylated polyols are widely used in radiation curable coating formulations. The most commonly used such polyol contains two functional groups: acrylate and hydroxyl. The hydroxyl group reacts with (poly)isocyanates and other polyols to generate urethane, and the acrylate group makes the urethane radiation curable. This paper reports a new method to synthesize novel, multifunctional unsaturated polyester polyols in a one-step reaction and describe their applications in radiation curable flooring coatings.
