Classifying Pollution Severity for HVDC and HVDC in China

摘要

At the beginning of 1990 large area pollution flashover happened in north China power grid. The First relative national standard "High voltage overhead line and power plants, substation environment pollution classification and external insulation selection standard" (GB/T 16434) was completed in 1996, based on the atmospheric pollution spread to a wide range. Contributions and Limitations: 1. ESDD and pollution level (5 levels); 2. ESDD testing cycle 1 ～ 3 years; 3. Creepage distance and pollution level (5 levels); 4. Grid operation is still stay in the "line cleaning every year, substation cleaning every outage".
