In order to study the dynamic mechanical response of the bridge deck pavement based on different contact conditions between paving layer and bridge deck, a three-dimensional finite-element model is developed to analyze the influence of different contact conditions on dynamic analysis of the pavement, and also the effects of pavement modulus, different material damping ratios, and the thickness of asphalt pavement on the mechanical response are analyzed. In this paper, all the research is conducted at the overloading state to acquire the worst mechanical response. The maximum transverse tensile stress and strain are selected as control indexes. Results indicate that keeping the contact condition of interlayer completely continuous is beneficial to the mechanical response of the bridge deck pavement. For bridge deck pavement, especially that with discontinuous interlayer contact, appropriate pavement parameters, such as modulus and thickness of the pavement should be designed carefully in order to achieve a satisfactory mechanical response.
