Emotional Communication Efficacy, Group Cohesion, and Group Performance

摘要

Despite the recent advances in affective computing, research has yet studied how users' emotion communication efficacy affects group cohesion and performance. Through a survey of 113 undergraduate students (34 groups) working in groups to complete a group project, the study reveals the significant and positive impact of emotion communication efficacy on social cohesion, confirms the salient influence of social and task cohesion on group performance. The insightful findings of the research have significant implications to researchers and practitioners on affective computing and emotion communication.
