A traditional e-learning system lacks the needed flexibility to adapt to a variety of users. On the other hand, an adaptive hypermedia system builds a model of the preferences and knowledge of an individual user. It uses this built model throughout the interaction with the user in order to adapt to his/ her particular needs. The result is a personalization and an enrichment of the learning experience of each learner. This chapter will present a review of some existing adaptive hypermedia systems as well as their major characteristics. It will also introduce the general architecture of the LogiAuteur system and how it implements the theories on learning styles and on multiple intelligences.
