Material selection is a very important issue for design and manufacturing problems. The general grey relational analysis (GRA) has two weaknesses, namely, the weight determination depends only on expert judgments, and the qualitative indexes are simply quantified with exact number. In this paper, Combination weights are determined by combining subjective and objective weights based on maximum deviation. The qualitative indexes are fuzzy quantified through trapezoidal fuzzy number (TFN). The method is applied to the bearing material selection, and results show that the method make multi-attribute decision making more reasonable, so as to have important application value.
