Backgrounds and Possible Results of the Dispute Over EU Seal Products Ban

One third of Canadian seal products are exported to the EU market. The EU has paid great attention to inhumane and cruel seal hunting methods in Canada. The EU's Seal Ban Regulation is established for banning commercial sealing purpose. However, Canada's WTO complaint seems to be divorced from the material issues touching off this trade conflict. Even so, Canada will be the winner at last under the ruleoriented dispute settlement mechanism.
