New Chemical Methods for Synthesis ofMagnetic Nanoparticles for BiomedicalApplications

An update is presented on some recent development in the synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles for potential use in biomedical applications. Particular attention is paid to (i) the preparation of magnetic nanoparticles that are readily dispersed in aqueous solution (ii) the synthesis of alloy magnetic nanoparticles and (iii) novel synthesis methods used control the physical properties of the nanoparticles.
