Many of the initiatives listed in this report could be considered very small steps but taken as a whole they produced a very large result. By investigating the process flow accurately determining where delays and process bottlenecks were located low cost high gain projects could be identified and implemented. All projects and people working together provided a production increase of 32% within one year as seen in Figure 3. This production increase was sustained over 2 consecutive months and would have reliably continued if the global economic situation had not rapidly reduced steel demand.
