摘要

Wood blue stain was measured for detection of mountain pine beetle (MPB) attacked wood content in mixed wood chip furnish. In previous study [1], a flatbed scanner lab bench instrument was used to quantify MPB infested wood chips at stabilized (moisture, temperature) condition. In this study, a camera based vision system was developed for on-line blue stain content measurement in pulp mill chip line. The chip color analysis algorithm developed from this study is capable of separating blue stain, red chip and bark from normal chips. On-line blue stain output is not sensitive to chip moisture and temperature variations within the test range specified in this study.
