Lecture recordings are easy to produce, but suffer from missing elements of the face-to-face experience, like movements and gestures of the teacher. This article presents a system to fully capture the teacher (his movements and pointing gestures) and to transfer this to an E-Lecture. Additionally, this can be used to directly control an avatar in synchronous on-line classes via virtual 3D worlds. Thus, online classes become much more realistic than using conventional techniques.
