摘要

Today's industrial friction measurement test rigs provide a brake system friction coefficient measurement with an uncertainty of ± 5% (1). The evaluated brake system friction coefficient shows, beside the uncertainty, some drawbacks for the development of friction materials e.g. the unknown brake system influence on the friction coefficient. The proposed combined measuring and simulation approach uses directly measured friction forces to balance, in an iterative simulation process, the assumed initial friction coefficient. Based on a modified floating calliper passenger car brake an alternative measurement design is presented. Due to the volume and the ongoing simulation work the paper had to be separated into two parts: Part I Experimental Work, Part II Simulation Work.
