Hot Forming of Zinc Coated Press Hardening Steel. Characterisation of Forming Behaviour and New Process Routes for Mass Production

摘要

This paper shall give an overview for the processing of press-hardening steels (PHS) with zinc coatings. Results for forming behaviour and corrosion performance will be shown in detail. Furthermore, specific friction parameters for a robust forming and press-hardening process compared to uncoated or AlSi coated material are shown. A range of different processes including indirect and direct process are explained in detail. Especially the topic of micro-cracks, their mechanisms and avoidance in the direct process will be discussed. Results from successful industrial and semi-industrial productions are shown.
