Present Situation and Prospect of NIMS Materials Database

Over the past several years, availability of materials database, has promoted data-driven materials selection and materials design. NIMS Materials Database has successfully built a reputation as a reliable source, and a key part of the process of materials selection and new materials development. NIMS Materials Database covers a large variety of materials from metals, ceramics to polymers and composites, extensive data ranging from essential substance characteristics such as electronic structures, crystal structures, and basic physical and chemical properties, to applied engineering properties such as creep, fatigue, and corrosion, to name a few. In this work, the current status and prospect of the NIMS Materials Database system will be introduced with respect to the data content, search functionality, simulation tools, etc.
