Software organizations search for decision making forms through the creation of measurement systems. There are innumerous ways to develop these systems, as for example, Balance Scorecard, Goal Question Metric and Practical Software & Systems Measurements. Measurement systems can define indicators with the purpose to establish a reward system, also known as incentive systems, whoso aim is to quantify team's performance and reword them according to the levels achieved by the acquired and analyzed indicators. This paper explains how reward systems are defined in software development organizations and the impacts that they can bring to teams' productivity.
