Chemically activated nanoporous carbons were synthesized by mixing different amounts of KOH with a cha obtained by sucrose dehydration, in the presence of sulphuric acid and by performing carbonization at different temperature] (700, 800 and 900°C). Porous properties of the obtained carbon materials were studied by means of N2 adsorption at 77 K Hydrogen adsorption isotherms at 77 K were measured in the 0-10 bar pressure range, and a maximum hydrogen adsorptioi capacity of 3.4 % wt was observed at 10 bar. A linear correlation was found between hydrogen uptakes and microporou: volumes of these carbon materials.
