Adsorption processes are used in many branches of industry and in many modern technologies. Progress in the field requires the search for possibly cheap and most effective adsorption materials. Among many materials used for this purpose the most promising are the adsorbents obtained from organic substances, in particular activated carbons, which are also used as catalysts or catalyst supports as well as in electrochemistry or for gas storage.
