In recent years, efforts in developing better supercapacitor electrode materials have gained considerable attention. A great interest has been focused on the application of carbonaceous materials as electrode materials because of their relatively low cost, versatile existing forms, large specific surface area, good electric conductivity, and excellent chemical stability. Activated carbons have been widely adopted as electrode materials for supercapacitor. Activated carbons used in supercapacitors must have different characteristics: high specific surface area to ensure high specific capacitance value, low resistivity, and microtexture well adapted in order to allow good electrolyte accessibility into the inner surface of the electrode.
