Wheel-rail contact analysis of vehicles in a lowframe-bridge system in quay is conducted. Considering different occasions of different loads, radii of wheel and forms of rail, approaches based on the Hertz theory and FEA are respectively implemented for regular pattern which results in variation with conditions and results are compared. Approaches based on the Hertz theory and FEA are applied for stress and deformation attribution in point contact and line contact problems for wheel-rail contact analysis. Stress attribution obtained is approximately equivalent on occasion of point contact through two approaches while deformation obtained by the application of Hertz theory exceeds the actual structural size, which is not reasonable. Thus, both approaches based on the Hertz theory and FEA are apply to point contact problems for machineries with track on occasion of low speed and heavy load while approach based on FEA is suggested to be employed for line contact problems.
