摘要

It is essential to represent knowledge effectively for the construction of an expert system. Only when knowledge is represented effectively, can" the system reason effectively. This paper analyses the knowledge features in the mechanical design field and presents a hybrid knowledge representation method by using relevant matrix to represent the knowledge in mechanical design field. A design expert system for hydraulic excavator is developed. The design process and results of a real excavator show that the proposed knowledge representation method can represent knowledge effectively and enhance reasoning efficiency.
