The result of an analysis of JPD shows there is a hierarchy of frequency among the phonological elements in JSL. It will help developing sign recognition and sign generation. The two JPDs by Kanda(1995) and Hara(2005) in which 634 words and 2600 were described each in the different notational systems. Kanda(1998) pointed out that the native signers and the proficient users could understand the signing with only the fists . He named them "Doraemon signing". It means the handshapes are less important to them, comparing the beginners mostly pay attention to them.
