@@INTRODUCTIONOne of the most important indices at implementation of heavy haul operations is fuel and power consumption for traction of trains. Some research works are known aimed at decreasing power consumption for traction at haulage of trains of increased mass and length ( PMD). Thus at the IHHA conferences, which were held in Rio-de Janeiro (2005) and Kiruna (2007), reports submitted from Austria [ 1,2 ] and Sweden [ 3 ] , dedicated to the problem of saving fuel and power consumption, were listened to with great interest In the reports [1,2] ways of optimizing the trajectories of freight trains movement, based on application of particular techniques in use of the terrain, in locomotive traction control and some other factors were under discussion. The methods provide for a considerable economic efficiency proving the possibility and feasibility of fuel and power saving in traction of trains ( TER ). At the same time it should be noted the particular nature of the proposed solutions and, consequently, the difficulty of their high-scale implementation.
