Fundamental Study on Bearing Capacity Evaluation of Base Course for Concrete Pavement

摘要

In the mechanical analysis of concrete pavement, the foundation which support concrete slab is modeled as linear springs (Winkler foundation) or continuum elastic body (Boussinesq foundation/Bunnister foundation). It is said that when bending stress of concrete slab which is calculated using the Winkler foundation gives same value with the Boussinesq foundation, deflection of the Winkler foundation and the Boussinesq foundation shall be different. In this study, from results of the FWD test and static loading test using a concrete pavement which constructed in the Public Works Research Institute, beating capacity evaluation using the Winkler foundation and the elastic body foundation were carded out. As a result, it was found that the elastic body foundation is more suitable for the FWd analysis and the bearing capacity factor i.e. The elastic modulus is depending on the strain/stress level.
