The cathode polarization curve, composition and morphology of electroless Fe-P alloy with cerium were analyzed and tested by electrochemical analytical system, electron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that addition of cerium makes deposition potential move towards positive direction and polarizability decrease. With the augment of cerium added in the bath, the content of iron decreases and the content of phosphor increases first and decreases afterwards in Fe-P coating. The surface of alloy is formed by irregular cord-like cell and adding rare earth can make the cell refine.
