10 MW-Class HTS Wind Turbine: Research joint venture with TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company formed in Sept. 2007. Dept. of Commerce's Advanced Technology Program providing funding for initial development work. Focused on producing technologies for superconductor wind turbine generators that are onethird the weight and size of conventional copperbased technologies. Currently designing a complete 10 MW-class wind turbine; prototypes of generator and turbine. Based on HTS motor technology from AMSC.
