摘要

Many studies have focused on the adsorption of metals/metalloids by bacteria (e.g., Fein et al., 2001; Chatellier and Fortin, 2004; Burnett et al., 2006) or by iron oxides (e.g., Dzombak and Morel, 1990; Dixit and Hering, 2003). Fewer studies have investigated metal/metalloid partitioning in systems containing both bacteria and iron oxides (e.g., Small et al., 1999; Templeton et al., 2003). The aim of this investigation was to assess relationships between metal/metalloid adsorption and 1) the ratio of total iron to biomass concentration and 2) the extent of the oxidation and hydrolysis of the Fe(II).
