摘要

Heavy metals are found throughout the environment; however, total metal concentrations are only "part of the environmental equation". An equally important question is how the metals are bound and much research has been devoted towards understanding metal complexation. The stability of the metal complexes will determine the reactivity, residence times and bioavailability of the metals in natural systems.
