Research on an Integrated System to Improve Business Performance for Small Medium Business

Despite massive investments in ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems, many small & medium businesses (SMBs) still don't have the information they need to make good business decisions. The problem isn't a lack of information it's a lack of insight. Today's decision-makers are buried in raw data and reports, but the truly useful insights are hidden somewhere in the pile. With the development of IT and management innovation, more and more SMBs are starting to close the insight gap through a practice called Integrated Performance Management (IPM). In this paper, a business model of integrated performance management for SMBs was discussed, included three parts such as plan, measure, intervene, deepen in eight activities as strategy, planning, budgeting, reporting, periodic performance measurement, analysis, intervene, forecasting in detail. A technical framework of integrated performance management system is brought forward, which shows the infrastructure of system design. This paper's results will be benefit to further study of how to improve performance through implementing business performance management system for SMBs.
