In order to validate the NVH integration of active components and modules on a vehicle, prediction of applied forces at the interface of such components and the car body has to be performed. Suppliers, before being able to test their new equipment on the actual car body have to comply with acoustic and vibratory specifications which are modelled with simulation tools and checked on test benches. The prediction of real operational forces on the car needs the mastering of the full measurement and calculation process from the individual components to the vehicle interface. The case of a fan system attached to the front-end module of a car is under study. The general formulation allows us to predict forces applied by the module on a chassis from the forces applied by the active component on a test bench. Prediction and measurement results are compared. Finally, contributions of the different terms involved in force prediction are discussed.
