DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR POWERING HIGH BRIGHTNESS LED'S

High Brightness Light Emitting Diodes (HB LED) are finding new applications and increasing adoption in a wide variety of Industries. The power required for single or strings of these LED's is also rapidly increasing. To effectively incorporate this relatively new technology requires an understanding of HB LED characteristics combined with knowledge of power supply design. This paper intends to inform the reader of the benefits of the HB LED along with providing insights into the power integration critical to achieving the optimum results.
