The device has a control unit connected with single light sources and with an interface. The control unit is connected with an input unit for selecting or presetting light ambient. The control unit is designed such that decreasing or increasing of brightness value of the single light sources is carried out based on decreasing or increasing of brightness value of one of the light sources. Rate of change of the brightness value of the light sources is equal to predetermined rate of change during decreasing of the brightness values of the light sources. An independent claim is also included for a method for individually controlling single light sources.
