The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of dissimilar Al-Cu joint is the urgent task nowadays. In order to receive high quality dissimilar joint, it is very important to control the temperature of the FSW process. The different schemes to characterize the temperature field during dissimilar FSW are developed. The experimental results on the measurement of the temperature during FSW using thermocouples are presented. Finite Element Model (FEM) to calculate temperature field during FSW of dissimilar materials was described. The results of calculations were compared with the data received by temperature measurements.
