We analyze the active‐shell occupation probabilities of ~(76)Ge and their contribution to the single‐ and double‐beta decay matrix elements of this isotope. Strength modifications of the nucleon spin‐orbit interaction are introduced for a better comparison with experimental data. The relation of this spin‐orbit interaction with the nucleon densities is explored, and the latter are analyzed for ~(76)Ge in the context of parity‐violating electron scattering as a tool to extract accurate experimental information on neutron distributions.
