Effect of surface morphology on dye adsorption of rutile TiO_2 based DSC prepared by hydrothermal method

摘要

In the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC), photo-excited electrons in the dye are injected into the conduction band of TiO_2 film leaving holes in the dye, and the electrons move in the TiO_2 film by diffusion. In order to increase the efficiency of DSC, there are attempts in investigating the nanostructured TiO_2 such as nanorod and nanoflower [1,2]. The researches on the rutile-phased TiO_2 based DSCs were also reported [3,4] to enhance the electron transportation in the film. The problem for using rutile-phased TiO_2 is low energy conversion efficiency of the DSC. One of the ways to improve the performance of rutile based DSC is to increase the dye adsorption in TiO_2 film.
