Using content analysis methodology, this study will evaluated the preparatory year program courses in four colleges at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and Princess Norah Bent Abdulrahman University in Riyadh. The purpose of the study is to measure the integration of information literacy skills into teaching and learning practices of those courses provided by these colleges. The study used course syllabi to identify topics related to teaching information sources, tools, searching techniques, libraries and information centers. The study findings showed absence of information literacy skills at PNAU in its professional definition and a crowded course at KAU provides a theoretical review of the concept and its major competencies without practical sessions. The major recommendation of the study calls for integrating teaching information literacy skills in the first year courses and gives university librarians a role in that.
