摘要

Education must empower learners to act effectively in an evolving society where analytical thinkingskills will be increasingly needed (ET2020). The cMinds project proposes a learning intervention thatexploits new technologies and promotes the adoption of ET2020 educational objectives by schoolsthrough the development of transversal learning skills, namely analytical and critical thinking, independent learning, and learning in groups that help learners excel academically in all subject areasof the school curriculum. The cMinds project integrates explorative learning methodologies andinformation technology into a virtual learning suite that deploys programming concepts towards thedevelopment of analytical thinking and problem solving capacity among young learners. Earlyfeedback from the deployment of the cMinds learning methodologies, tools, and activities inclassrooms in Greece, Sweden, Romania, and the Czech Republic is positive and demonstrate a highlevel of engagement by teachers and learners. The project is partly funded by the Comenius Action ofthe Life Long Learning Programme of the European Commission and runs from 2010 to 2012.
