The emission of NOx into the atmosphere is a major environmental concern because of their detrimental effects (e.g., acid rain, photochemical smog and greenhouse effects) on mankind and various ecosystems [1]. A novel process combining photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO) and wet absorption was developed to reuse the nitrogen from flue gas as the nitrogen fertilizer. Firstly, nitric oxide (NO) from the simulated flue gas was converted to nitrogen dioxide (NO_2) through PCO. After the PCO process, the nitrogen oxides were absorbed in a wet scrubber using NaOH as absorbent. The product of wet scrubber was the sodium nitrate, which could use as the nitrogen fertilizer.
