摘要

Experimental data from scientific publications are used with a two-stage detonation propulsion model to reveal how an explosive affects the material it propels as well as the material's final velocity. Brisant first-stage propulsion is identified as affecting processes ranging from cylinder fragmentation to shaped charge jet break-up. The effects of an air gap between an explosive and the material it propels are shown to follow specific trends that may be independent of the explosive itself.
