Upgrading of an Existing Horizontal Annealing Furnace for Special HSS and AHSS Steel Grade Production

Current trends in global markets for steel are tending towards a request for materials with elevated mechanical properties. Not only therefore generating a demand for new and modern installations, but also for revamps to existing plants where strip treatment using particular thermal annealing cycles is mandatory and subsequently tailored to the requirements of the End-user. Danieli Centro Combustion was recently awarded an order for fine tuning activities related to modifications and upgrading the ZIN4 hot dip galvanising line's horizontal furnace at Marcegaglia SpA (Ravenna - Italy). Increasing production of medium to high thickness products boosts the line's production capacity by approximately 10% to achieve an estimated 600.000t of inventory per year.
