PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annealing method capable of providing a stainless steel foil strip excellent in flatness by reducing variation of a center part in a width direction of the foil strip after annealing even when annealing is conducted while passing the stainless steel foil strip with extremely thin thickness in a horizontal direction and a horizontal type annealing furnace suitable for the annealing method.;SOLUTION: There is provided an annealing method of a stainless steel foil strip for continuously annealing the stainless steel foil strip which is passed in a horizontal direction and has a catenary generated, wherein thickness of the steel foil strip is 5 to 60 μm, deformation correction means for correcting deformation of the stainless steel foil strip by contacting with a surface thereof and following the same during annealing is arranged in a zone showing a temperature of the stainless steel foil strip of 850 to 1250°C and contact length is set at 10 mm or more when the contact length is a length of an area where the deformation correction means contacts with the stainless steel foil strip in a passing direction.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
