Introduction: Participate wear debris from implant materials and subsequent oteolysis has been recognized as the major cause of long term failure in total hip arthroplasty(THA). Thus, the accurate determination of polyethylene wear is critical. Livermore et al. reported a manual method for determining wear from radiographs. Several authors recently reported a computer-assisted method for determining wear from radiographs. However, two radiographs that the angle is adjusted strictly are necessary to determine wear in three dimensions. We developed a computer program - OCULA-GAWDI - for determining wear in three dimensions from two radiographs that do not adjust the angle. The purpose of this study is accuracy of our computer-assisted method for determining wear.
