摘要

This paper aims to propose some strategies for motivating students in college English classroom in China. It first reviews the development in motivation theories, and then presents the results of an empirical survey aimed at obtaining classroom data on motivational strategies. Finally, based on the empirical study,the author summarizes the most frequently practiced motivational strategies in college English classrooms in China and suggests other strategies which are underutilized but the author perceives to be equally effective and productive in motivating college English students.
