摘要

This article presents steel box concrete composite beam to solve the problems in applying popular steel-concrete composite structure and steel tube with concrete filled structure onto beam structures. Experiments were conducted with 5 steel box-concrete composite beams; and 2 hollow steel box beam with the same dimension were compared. The results have shown that: (1) the steel box concrete composite beam has favorable bending-resist features and flexibility, (2) the deform of the cross sections accords with the plane section assumption. (3) the ultimate loading capacity is improved evidently. (4) the longitudinal shear exists between the steel and the concrete so that the mechanic feature of the both materials can be utilized fully.
