New Modeling Guidance and Requirements -What To Do About It All

2015 will go down as a milestone year in the area of National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and air dispersion modeling. A myriad of new rules and guidance have been released by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or are in process, defining a series of challenges that will continue to develop as we move into 2016. Some of these new and on-going changes include: 1. The 1-hour SO2 NAAQS Attainment Designation process and Data Requirements Rule. 2. The EPA's SIP call for revised Startup, Shutdown, and Malfunction (SSM) rules from 36 states.
