Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a relatively new technology for measuring concentrations of air pollutants from stationary sources at refineries in the United States. As the price of the instrumentation becomes more affordable and the size of spectral libraries continues to grow, more air testing firms are using FTIR monitoring at refineries for emissions compliance testing, gathering process engineering data and optimizing pollution abatement equipment.
