Unsaturated polyesters were first developed over 20 years ago for the manufacture of solid surface kitchen surfaces. However, there were no scientific studies showing the optimum post cure temperature or time needed to get complete cure on solid surface polyester parts. Kitchen sinks and countertops are exposed to extreme conditions compared to similar parts made for bathrooms. The higher demands of the kitchen make it imperative to insure parts develop maximum physical properties. This can only be accomplished by post cure but at what temperature and for how long?
